New Diaper Bag!

As promised, though a day late, here are some photos of my new diaper bag...one of the only purchases I have made for myself in getting ready for baby girl to arrive!  I just figured, after 2 and 1/2 years with the same bag, I can splurge and get a new one!  :)  I love it and it has tons of great features...love the pattern, the fact that I can put a few photos under the clear plastic windows which are under the lift up flap and I love the wide, padded strap!

It is made by Ju.Ju.Be and I bought it at Buy Buy Baby (with a 20% of coupon, of course!).  It wasn't cheap but I never buy anything for myself and my Mom convinced me it was too cute to pass up!  I love it and feel we're one step closer to being ready for baby girl to arrive!  YAY!!!

We're in the Home Stretch!

Had my first bi-monthly OB/GYN checkup today...I'm officially 30 weeks, 3 days, but I think my due date is incorrect by about a week.  Anyway, I can't believe how quickly the second trimester flew by!  Probably because the first trimester was so long due to severe sickness and the boredom as a result of the sickness.

We still have so much to do before our baby arrives and I don't know when it is going to be completed!  Her room is driving me crazy!  My husband doesn't understand how badly I want it completely done and set up...he's worrying about building a freakin' cedar closet in the basement!  Hello?  I could care less about that right now!  We have a baby coming and nothing done to her room but paint...well, we have the furniture in the room, but I don't like how it's set up, and probably never will...just no good way to place everything.  AND, we are both accounting-types so we have no clue how to decorate or arrange furniture.  I wish I did because I LOVE decorating/organization/etc.  Hoping to take a class or two on those subjects someday!  I digress...so I am going to spend some of my Mommy Bonus this week/weekend and purchase curtain rods for both of the children's rooms.  I bought curtains last weekend, so we're making progress!

Now, if only the weather would warm up I'd be a very happy Mommy!  Too bad it's supposed to snow this weekend...ugh...I dislike MI winters!

Mommy Bonus

I am lucky enough to be able to stay at home and be a mommy to my son, Nolan, and my soon-to-be daughter.  My husband works very hard for our family so that I am able to stay home!  I do sometimes miss being able to contribute monetarily to our family and have some money to do whatever I want with, but those times aren't all that often.  Well, with a new baby coming, my nesting is kicking in full-force and we have still not decorated the nursery, though my wonderful husband did paint it a beautiful green and we are using my son's crib/dresser.  So, really, I just need the finishing touches to make it a comfy place for my baby girl to sleep and play.  I haven't bought much yet for her because we just spent money purchasing my son's big boy bedroom furniture (bed, dresser, nightstand and bookshelf!) and I wasn't sure when I would have time and money to buy anything for her room.

Good news!  I'm getting a bonus this year!  :)  My husband worked his behind off at work and is lucky enough that even in this poor MI economy he's getting a bonus this year...and he's giving me half to do whatever I want!   Forgive my poor grammar but I'm so freakin' excited!  My husband knows I sometimes miss making my own money so he explained to me why I'm getting a bonus and how much I mean to him!  How adorable is he?!?  It really means a lot to me, to hear such loving things from my best friend and partner in life, even though I already knew my husband appreciated how much I do with Nolan.

Now, I'm still not going to buy some ridiculously priced decor, but at least I won't feel awful when I want to spend some money and get my son a nice quilt and set of pillow shams for his new bed (right now he just uses a sheet and blanket).  I'll post photos of some of the fun things I buy with my Mommy Bonus and welcome any suggestions/ideas!
